GroupShuffle is a free classroom grouping tool. This page explains what information is (and isnât) handled when you use it. The short version: the tool itself runs entirely in your browser, requires no account, and the names you type are never sent to our servers.
The names you enter are processed only in your browser. Shuffling happens on your device, and no names, rosters, or groups are transmitted to or stored on any server. If you use the âSaved classesâ feature, your lists are stored in your browserâs local storage on your own device. They stay there until you delete them (using the Delete button in the app or by clearing your browser data), and they are not accessible to us or to anyone else.
The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like virtually all web hosts, Cloudflare may log basic technical request data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy for details.
To keep GroupShuffle free, the site may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, which may be personalized based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can read how Google uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info/choices. Visitors in regions that require it (such as the EEA and UK) will be shown a consent prompt before any advertising cookies are set. Ads are never shown in projector, fullscreen, or print views.
GroupShuffle is a tool for teachers and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children â student names entered by a teacher never leave the teacherâs device.
If this policy changes (for example, when advertising goes live), the update will be posted on this page with a new âlast updatedâ date.
